Cherrapunji
Cherrapunji is a town located in the northeastern state of Meghalaya, India. It is renowned for its heavy rainfall, making it one of the wettest places on Earth. The region is characterized by lush green landscapes, stunning waterfalls, and unique living root bridges created by the local Khasi people.
The town is situated at an elevation of about 1,400 meters (4,593 feet) above sea level and is part of the Eastern Himalayas.
