Socratic Philosophy
Socratic Philosophy is based on the teachings of the ancient Greek philosopher Socrates, who emphasized the importance of questioning and dialogue in the pursuit of knowledge. He believed that through asking probing questions, individuals could uncover their own beliefs and assumptions, leading to greater understanding and wisdom. This method, known as the Socratic Method, encourages critical thinking and self-reflection.
Socrates did not write down his teachings; instead, his ideas were recorded by his students, notably Plato. Central to Socratic Philosophy is the idea that "the unexamined life is not worth living," highlighting the value of self-examination and ethical inquiry in achieving a meaningful life.
