Socotra Island
Socotra Island is a unique archipelago located in the Arabian Sea, part of Yemen. It is renowned for its extraordinary biodiversity, with about one-third of its plant life found nowhere else on Earth. The island's distinctive flora includes the famous Dragon's Blood Tree, known for its red sap, and the Bottle Tree, which has a bulbous trunk.
The island's isolation has led to the evolution of many endemic species, making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Socotra's diverse ecosystems range from sandy beaches to rugged mountains, providing habitats for various wildlife, including birds and reptiles.
