Socialist Revolutionary Party
The Socialist Revolutionary Party (SRP) was a political party in Russia founded in 1901. It aimed to represent the interests of the peasantry and promote agrarian socialism. The party was known for its emphasis on revolutionary action and was involved in various uprisings against the Tsarist regime.
The SRP split into two factions: the Left SRs, who supported the Bolsheviks during the October Revolution of 1917, and the Right SRs, who opposed them. The party played a significant role in the early 20th-century Russian political landscape but eventually lost influence after the Bolshevik consolidation of power.
