Socialist Party of Chile
The Socialist Party of Chile (Partido Socialista de Chile) is a political party founded in 1933. It advocates for socialism and social justice, aiming to address economic inequality and promote workers' rights. The party has played a significant role in Chilean politics, particularly during the presidency of Salvador Allende in the early 1970s.
After the military coup in 1973, which overthrew Allende, the party faced repression and many members were exiled. In the years following the return to democracy in 1990, the Socialist Party re-emerged as a key player in Chilean politics, participating in various coalitions and government administrations.
