Slovak National Council
The Slovak National Council (SNC) was the legislative body of Slovakia during the period of Czechoslovakia. Established in 1945, it played a crucial role in the governance of Slovakia, particularly after World War II. The council was responsible for enacting laws and representing Slovak interests within the broader framework of the Czechoslovak Republic.
In 1993, following the peaceful split of Czechoslovakia into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the Slovak National Council was transformed into the National Council of Slovakia. This new assembly continues to serve as the primary legislative authority in Slovakia, shaping the country's laws and policies.
