Skin Tag
A skin tag is a small, soft growth that hangs off the skin, often appearing in areas where skin rubs against skin or clothing. They are usually flesh-colored or slightly darker and can vary in size. Skin tags are benign, meaning they are not cancerous and typically do not cause any health issues.
These growths are most common in adults, especially those who are overweight or have diabetes. While skin tags are harmless, some people choose to have them removed for cosmetic reasons or if they become irritated. Removal methods include freezing, cutting, or cauterization.
