Skeuomorphism
Skeuomorphism is a design concept where digital elements mimic their real-world counterparts. This approach helps users understand how to interact with new technology by using familiar shapes, textures, and functions. For example, a digital notepad may look like a physical notebook, complete with a paper texture and spiral binding.
This design style was popular in early software and applications, such as Apple's iOS, where icons resembled real objects, like a camera or a calendar. However, in recent years, many designers have shifted towards flat design, which emphasizes simplicity and minimalism, moving away from skeuomorphic elements.
