Sixtus V
Sixtus V was a pope who served from 1585 to 1590. Born as Francesco Peretti in 1521, he was known for his strong leadership and reformative actions within the Catholic Church. He focused on improving the administration of the Church and combating corruption, which helped restore faith among the clergy and laity.
One of his notable achievements was the completion of the Vatican and the establishment of a network of roads and postal services to improve communication across Italy. Sixtus V also commissioned the construction of the Papal Basilica of St. Peter, enhancing the grandeur of the Vatican City.
