Siraj ud-Daula
Siraj ud-Daula was the last independent Nawab of Bengal, ruling from 1756 to 1757. He ascended to the throne at a young age and faced numerous challenges, including internal dissent and external threats from the British East India Company. His reign was marked by efforts to consolidate power and resist colonial encroachment.
In 1757, Siraj ud-Daula's conflict with the British culminated in the pivotal Battle of Plassey. This battle resulted in his defeat and the subsequent establishment of British control over Bengal, significantly impacting the region's history and paving the way for British colonial rule in India.
