Silica Gels
Silica gels are small beads made from silicon dioxide, a natural mineral. They are commonly used as a desiccant, which means they help absorb moisture from the air. This property makes them useful for keeping products dry, preventing mold, and extending shelf life in various items like food, electronics, and leather goods.
These gels are often found in small packets labeled "Do Not Eat" that come with many products. While they are non-toxic, they should not be ingested. Silica gels can be reused by drying them out in an oven, allowing them to absorb moisture again.
