Sikh Genocide
The term "Sikh Genocide" refers to the mass killings and violence against the Sikh community in India, particularly during the anti-Sikh riots of November 1984. This violence was triggered by the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards, leading to widespread attacks on Sikhs, their homes, and gurdwaras (Sikh temples) across the country.
During these riots, thousands of Sikhs were killed, and many more were displaced. The events are remembered as a significant tragedy in Sikh history, with ongoing calls for justice and recognition of the violence as genocide by various human rights organizations and Sikh advocacy groups.
