Siege of Tournai
The Siege of Tournai took place in 1513 during the Italian Wars, where the forces of King Henry VIII of England besieged the city of Tournai, located in present-day Belgium. The city was strategically important and had been under the control of the Duchy of Burgundy. The siege aimed to capture Tournai to strengthen England's position in continental Europe.
After several weeks of bombardment and assaults, Tournai surrendered in September 1513. The capture of the city allowed England to gain a foothold in the region, although it was later returned to the Kingdom of France in 1519 as part of a peace treaty.
