Sican
The Sican culture, also known as the Lambayeque culture, thrived in northern Peru from around 750 to 1375 AD. This civilization is renowned for its advanced metalworking, particularly in gold and silver, and its intricate pottery. The Sican people built impressive pyramids and ceremonial centers, reflecting their sophisticated social structure and religious practices.
The Sican are best known for their elaborate burial practices, which often included rich grave goods. The Sican National Museum houses many artifacts, showcasing their artistry and daily life. The culture's decline is believed to be linked to environmental changes and the rise of the Inca Empire.
