Shrikhand
Shrikhand is a popular Indian dessert made from strained yogurt, known for its creamy texture and sweet flavor. It is primarily prepared in the western states of Maharashtra and Gujarat, especially during festivals and special occasions. The yogurt is hung in a cloth to remove excess whey, resulting in a thick consistency, which is then sweetened with sugar and flavored with cardamom, saffron, and sometimes fruits like mango.
This delightful dish is often served chilled and can be enjoyed on its own or with puri, a type of fried bread. Shrikhand is not only delicious but also nutritious, as it is rich in protein and probiotics, making it a wholesome treat for all ages.
