Shloshim
Shloshim is a Hebrew term meaning "thirty," referring to the thirty-day mourning period observed in Judaism following the death of a loved one. This period begins after the initial seven days of intense mourning known as Shiva. During Shloshim, mourners continue to honor the deceased and reflect on their life, often refraining from celebrations and certain social activities.
The observance of Shloshim allows mourners to gradually transition back to everyday life while still acknowledging their loss. It is a time for remembrance, prayer, and sometimes attending special services in honor of the deceased, helping the bereaved community support one another.
