Shivaism
Shivaism is a major tradition within Hinduism that focuses on the worship of Shiva, one of the principal deities. Followers, known as Shaivites, believe that Shiva represents the ultimate reality and the source of all creation. The tradition emphasizes meditation, asceticism, and the pursuit of spiritual knowledge.
Central to Shivaism is the concept of Shakti, or divine energy, which is often associated with Shiva's consort, Parvati. Rituals, prayers, and festivals, such as Maha Shivaratri, are important aspects of worship. Shivaism also includes various philosophical schools, each interpreting the nature of Shiva and the universe in unique ways.
