Shimonoseki
Shimonoseki is a city located in the western part of Japan, on the island of Honshu. It sits at the narrow strait known as the Shimonoseki Strait, which separates Honshu from Kyushu. The city is famous for its fugu (pufferfish) cuisine and hosts the annual Shimonoseki Fugu Festival. Additionally, Shimonoseki played a significant role in the Sino-Japanese War, being the site of the Treaty of Shimonoseki in 1895.
