Shia communities
Shia communities are groups of Muslims who follow the teachings of Islam and specifically adhere to the Shia branch of the faith. They believe that leadership should have remained within the family of the Prophet Muhammad, particularly through his cousin and son-in-law, Ali. This belief distinguishes them from Sunni Muslims, who accept a broader range of leaders.
Shia Muslims are found worldwide, with significant populations in countries like Iran, Iraq, Bahrain, and Lebanon. They celebrate unique religious observances, such as Ashura, which commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, the grandson of Muhammad, and is a central event in Shia identity and spirituality.
