Shia Muslim
Shia Muslims are one of the two main branches of Islam, the other being Sunni Muslims. They believe that leadership of the Muslim community should have remained within the family of the Prophet Muhammad, specifically with his cousin and son-in-law, Ali. This belief in the rightful succession of leadership is a core aspect of Shia identity.
Shia Islam is characterized by its unique practices and beliefs, including the veneration of the Imams, who are considered spiritual leaders and guides. The largest Shia communities are found in countries like Iran, Iraq, and Bahrain, where they play significant cultural and political roles.
