Sunni Muslims
Sunni Muslims are the largest branch of Islam, making up about 85-90% of the global Muslim population. They follow the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad as recorded in the Hadith and emphasize the importance of the Qur'an. Sunni beliefs are based on the consensus of the community and the practices of the early Muslim community.
Sunni Islam is divided into several schools of thought, with the four main ones being Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali. Each school has its own interpretations of Islamic law and theology. Sunni Muslims celebrate major Islamic holidays, such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, and participate in communal prayers at mosques.
