Shia Community
The Shia Community is one of the two main branches of Islam, the other being Sunni. Shia Muslims believe that leadership should have remained within the family of the Prophet Muhammad, specifically through his cousin and son-in-law, Ali. This belief leads to a distinct religious and cultural identity.
Shia Islam is characterized by its unique practices, rituals, and interpretations of the Quran. The community commemorates significant events, such as the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet, during the month of Muharram. Shia Muslims are primarily found in countries like Iran, Iraq, and Bahrain.
