Shi'a Muslims
Shi'a Muslims are one of the two main branches of Islam, the other being Sunni Muslims. They believe that leadership of the Muslim community should have remained within the family of the Prophet Muhammad, specifically with his cousin and son-in-law, Ali. This belief leads to a distinct religious and cultural identity.
The Shi'a community is diverse, with significant populations in countries like Iran, Iraq, and Bahrain. They observe unique practices and rituals, including the commemoration of Ashura, which honors the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad.
