Serb Krajina
Serb Krajina was a self-declared Serbian entity in Croatia, established during the early 1990s amid the breakup of Yugoslavia. It was primarily populated by ethnic Serbs and sought to create a separate state due to fears of discrimination and violence from the Croatian government. The region was marked by conflict during the Croatian War of Independence, which lasted from 1991 to 1995.
In 1995, the Croatian military launched Operation Storm, which led to the collapse of Serb Krajina and the displacement of many Serbs. Following the operation, the area was reintegrated into Croatia, and the political landscape changed significantly, impacting the lives of the local population.
