Separation Anxiety
Separation anxiety is a psychological condition often seen in children, characterized by excessive fear or distress when separated from primary caregivers or home. This anxiety can manifest in various ways, including crying, tantrums, or physical complaints. It is a normal part of development but can become problematic if it persists beyond the typical age range.
In adults, separation anxiety can also occur, often linked to attachment issues or past trauma. Symptoms may include intense worry about losing loved ones or difficulty being alone. Treatment options include therapy and, in some cases, medication to help manage symptoms and improve coping strategies.
