Seonjo
Seonjo was the 14th king of the Joseon Dynasty in Korea, reigning from 1567 to 1608. He is known for his efforts to stabilize the kingdom during a tumultuous period marked by internal strife and external threats, particularly from the Japanese invasions of Korea (Imjin War) in the late 16th century. His reign saw significant political challenges and the rise of powerful factions within the court.
Despite his attempts at reform, Seonjo's leadership faced criticism for his indecisiveness and reliance on corrupt officials. His reign ultimately highlighted the complexities of governance during a time of crisis, impacting the future of the Joseon Dynasty.
