Sensation and Perception
Sensation refers to the process by which our sensory organs detect stimuli from the environment. This includes the five senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. Sensory receptors in our body convert these stimuli into electrical signals that are sent to the brain for processing.
Perception is the interpretation of these sensory signals, allowing us to understand and make sense of the world around us. It involves organizing and interpreting the information received through our senses, influenced by factors such as experience, context, and expectations. Together, sensation and perception help us navigate our environment effectively.
