Senate of Pakistan
The Senate of Pakistan is the upper house of the Parliament of Pakistan, responsible for representing the provinces and ensuring their interests are considered in legislation. It consists of 100 members, with each of the four provinces, as well as the Islamabad Capital Territory and Federally Administered Tribal Areas, having equal representation. Senators serve six-year terms, with half of the members retiring every three years.
The Senate plays a crucial role in the legislative process, reviewing and amending bills passed by the lower house, known as the National Assembly. It also has the authority to approve or reject appointments made by the President of Pakistan and to participate in discussions on national issues.
