Federally Administered Tribal Areas
The Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) were regions in Pakistan that were governed directly by the federal government rather than a provincial government. These areas were located along the border with Afghanistan and were known for their unique tribal customs and traditions. FATA was home to various tribes, each with its own governance systems and social structures.
In 2018, FATA was merged with the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leading to significant administrative changes. This merger aimed to integrate the region into the national framework, providing residents with access to the same legal and social services available in other parts of Pakistan.
