Semla
Semla is a traditional Swedish pastry, typically enjoyed during the period leading up to Lent. It consists of a soft, cardamom-flavored bun that is hollowed out and filled with a mixture of almond paste and whipped cream. The top of the bun is often dusted with powdered sugar, making it a sweet treat.
This pastry is also known as fastlagsbulle in Sweden and is commonly eaten on Fat Tuesday, the day before the start of Lent. Semla has a long history, with origins dating back to the Middle Ages, and it remains a popular dessert in Sweden and other Nordic countries.
