Second Junta
The "Second Junta" refers to the governing body established in Chile on September 11, 1973, following the military coup that overthrew President Salvador Allende. This junta was formed by the military leaders, including Augusto Pinochet, who became the head of the government. The junta aimed to restore order and implement a military regime in response to political instability and economic challenges.
The Second Junta lasted until March 29, 1974, when it was replaced by a more centralized military government. During this period, the junta implemented various policies that significantly impacted Chilean society, including economic reforms and human rights violations.
