Scottish Crown Jewels
The Scottish Crown Jewels are a collection of royal regalia used in the coronation of Scottish monarchs. They include the Crown of Scotland, the Sceptre, and the Sword of State, each symbolizing different aspects of kingship and authority. These treasures are housed in Edinburgh Castle and are among the oldest regalia in Europe.
The Crown Jewels were last used in the coronation of Charles II in 1651. After the English Civil War, they were hidden to prevent them from being seized. They were rediscovered in 1818 and have since become a significant part of Scotland's national heritage and identity.
