Schinus
Schinus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Anacardiaceae, commonly known as the pepper trees. These trees are native to South America and are characterized by their aromatic leaves and small, colorful berries. The most well-known species include Schinus molle, or the Peruvian pepper tree, and Schinus terebinthifolius, known as the Brazilian pepper tree.
Pepper trees are often used for ornamental purposes in landscaping due to their attractive foliage and ability to provide shade. However, some species, particularly the Brazilian pepper tree, can become invasive in certain regions, outcompeting native plants and disrupting local ecosystems.
