Scaly Anteaters
Scaly anteaters, also known as pangolins, are unique mammals covered in protective keratin scales. They belong to the order Pholidota and are primarily found in Africa and Asia. These nocturnal creatures have long, sticky tongues that help them feed on ants and termites, which make up the majority of their diet.
Pangolins are known for their ability to curl into a tight ball when threatened, using their scales as armor. There are eight species of pangolins, and they are currently facing significant threats from poaching and habitat loss, leading to their classification as vulnerable or endangered by conservation organizations.
