Say's Phoebe
Say's Phoebe is a small bird belonging to the tyrant flycatcher family, known scientifically as *Sayornis saya*. It typically measures about 6.5 to 7.5 inches in length and has a distinctive grayish-brown plumage with a lighter belly. This bird is often found in open habitats, such as fields and along riverbanks, where it can easily spot insects.
Say's Phoebe is recognized for its characteristic behavior of perching on low branches or fences, from which it swoops down to catch flying insects. It is commonly seen in western North America, especially during migration seasons, and is known for its soft, whistled call.
