Black Phoebe
The Black Phoebe is a small songbird belonging to the family Tyrannidae. It is commonly found in western North America, particularly near water sources like rivers and streams. This bird is easily recognizable by its dark black upperparts and white belly, along with its distinctive tail that often flicks up and down.
Black Phoebes primarily feed on insects, catching them in mid-air or picking them off surfaces. They are known for their characteristic call, which sounds like a sharp "pee-bee." These birds are often seen perched on low branches or fences, watching for prey while displaying their agile flying skills.
