Eastern Phoebe
The Eastern Phoebe is a small, gray-brown bird belonging to the flycatcher family. It measures about 6 to 7 inches in length and has a distinctive, slightly rounded head and a short tail. This bird is commonly found in open woodlands, fields, and near water sources across eastern North America.
Eastern Phoebes are known for their characteristic call, which sounds like "fee-bee." They primarily feed on insects, catching them in mid-air or picking them off surfaces. These birds are often seen perched on low branches or fences, where they watch for prey and defend their territory.
