Sattva (Purity)
Sattva, often referred to as purity, is one of the three gunas or qualities in Indian philosophy, particularly in the context of Samkhya and Yoga. It represents clarity, harmony, and balance, promoting positive qualities such as wisdom, compassion, and tranquility. Sattva is associated with lightness and is believed to lead to spiritual growth and enlightenment.
In daily life, cultivating sattva can be achieved through practices like meditation, a balanced diet, and engaging in uplifting activities. Foods that are fresh, wholesome, and nourishing, often termed Sattvic foods, contribute to a sattvic state of mind, enhancing mental clarity and emotional stability.
