Satavahana
The Satavahana dynasty was an ancient Indian dynasty that ruled from around 230 BCE to 220 CE. They were known for their contributions to trade, culture, and the spread of Buddhism in the Deccan region. The Satavahanas established a strong administrative system and promoted the use of the Prakrit language in inscriptions and literature.
The dynasty is notable for its patronage of art and architecture, including the famous Ajanta Caves and the Stupa at Sanchi. They played a crucial role in connecting various regions of India through trade routes, facilitating cultural exchanges between the Indo-Greeks and other civilizations.
