Sapa Chimu
Sapa Chimu is a title that refers to the leader or chief of the Chimu civilization, an ancient culture that thrived in what is now northern Peru from around 900 to 1470 AD. The Chimu are known for their advanced agricultural techniques, impressive architecture, and intricate pottery. Their capital, Chan Chan, was one of the largest pre-Columbian cities in the Americas.
The Sapa Chimu held significant power and authority, overseeing the administration, economy, and military of the Chimu state. This leader was often seen as a divine figure, responsible for maintaining harmony and prosperity within the society. The Chimu civilization eventually fell to the Inca Empire, which expanded its territory in the late 15th century.
