Salinan people
The Salinan people are a Native American group originally from the central coast of California. They traditionally inhabited areas around the Salinas Valley and the surrounding regions, relying on local resources for their sustenance, including fishing, hunting, and gathering.
Historically, the Salinan people spoke the Salinan language, which is now considered extinct. Their culture included rich traditions, ceremonies, and social structures. Today, efforts are being made to preserve their heritage and promote awareness of their history and contributions to California's diverse cultural landscape.
