Sakya lineage
The Sakya lineage is one of the four main schools of Tibetan Buddhism, known for its emphasis on scholarly study and philosophical teachings. Founded in the 11th century by Sakya Pandita, it combines both the Nyingma and Kadampa traditions, focusing on the integration of wisdom and compassion in practice.
The lineage is characterized by its unique teachings on the Lamdre (Path and Result), which outlines the stages of spiritual development. The Sakya school has produced many influential teachers, including Ngawang Kunga Nyingpo, and continues to play a significant role in preserving Tibetan Buddhist culture and philosophy.
