Saint Wenceslas
Saint Wenceslas, also known as Wenceslaus, is the patron saint of the Czech Republic. He was a duke of Bohemia in the 10th century and is celebrated for his efforts to promote Christianity in the region. His reign is marked by attempts to unify the Czech tribes and strengthen the church.
Wenceslas is often depicted in art wearing royal attire and holding a banner. He was murdered by his brother, Boleslaus, in 935 AD, which led to his martyrdom. His feast day is celebrated on September 28, and he is a symbol of Czech national identity and heritage.
