Saint Stanislaus
Saint Stanislaus, also known as Saint Stanislaus of Kraków, was a Polish bishop and martyr born in 1030. He is best known for his strong opposition to the immoral actions of King Bolesław II, which ultimately led to his martyrdom in 1079. Stanislaus was canonized in 1253 and is recognized as the patron saint of Poland.
His feast day is celebrated on April 11, and he is often depicted in religious art holding a cross and a model of a church. Saint Stanislaus is revered for his commitment to justice and his dedication to the Christian faith, making him an important figure in Polish history.
