Saint Rafka of the Cross
Saint Rafka of the Cross, also known as Rafka al-Makhlouf, was a Lebanese Maronite nun born in 1832. She is celebrated for her deep faith and commitment to God, dedicating her life to prayer and service. Rafka experienced significant suffering, including illness and physical pain, which she embraced as part of her spiritual journey.
She became a nun in the Maronite Church and spent many years in a convent, where she practiced her devotion. Rafka was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2001, and her feast day is celebrated on March 23. She is recognized as a symbol of perseverance and faith in the face of adversity.
