Rafka al-Makhlouf
Rafka al-Makhlouf was a Lebanese Christian woman born in 1832 in the village of Harfoush. She is known for her deep spirituality and commitment to her faith, which led her to become a nun in the Maronite Church. Rafka dedicated her life to prayer and service, often helping the sick and needy in her community.
In 1914, Rafka passed away, and her life of devotion and miracles attributed to her intercession led to her beatification by the Catholic Church in 1977. She was canonized as a saint in 2001, recognized for her exemplary life and the impact she had on those around her.
