Saint Marguerite
Saint Marguerite, also known as Saint Marguerite Bourgeoys, was a French nun and educator born in 1620. She is best known for founding the Congregation of Notre Dame in Montreal, Canada, which focused on providing education to young girls. Her work significantly contributed to the development of education in New France.
Marguerite dedicated her life to serving the community and promoting the importance of education. She was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 1982, recognizing her contributions to society and her commitment to faith. Her feast day is celebrated on January 12.
