Saint Frumentius
Saint Frumentius was a Christian missionary and the first bishop of Aksum, an ancient kingdom in present-day Ethiopia. He is believed to have been born in Tyre and was captured as a boy during a voyage, later becoming a servant in the royal court. His efforts led to the spread of Christianity in the region.
Frumentius played a crucial role in converting the Ethiopian king, Ezana, to Christianity, which subsequently became the state religion. He is venerated as a saint in both the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and the Coptic Orthodox Church, with his feast day celebrated on November 30.
