Abyssinia
Abyssinia, historically known as Ethiopia, is a region located in the Horn of Africa. It is one of the oldest inhabited areas in the world, with a rich cultural heritage and a diverse population. The name "Abyssinia" was commonly used in the West until the mid-20th century, when the country officially adopted the name Ethiopia.
The region is known for its unique geography, featuring highlands, plateaus, and the Great Rift Valley. Abyssinia has a significant historical legacy, including the ancient kingdom of Axum, which was a major trading empire and is often credited with the introduction of Christianity to the region in the 4th century.
