S-Type Asteroids
S-Type asteroids, or silicate asteroids, are primarily composed of silicate minerals and metallic iron. They are found mainly in the inner region of the Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter. These asteroids are typically medium-sized and have a relatively high albedo, meaning they reflect more sunlight compared to other types.
These asteroids are of great interest to scientists because they are thought to be remnants from the early solar system. Studying S-Type asteroids can provide valuable insights into the formation and evolution of planetary bodies, as well as the materials that make up terrestrial planets like Earth.
